From the American Revolution to ethnic cleansing in Bosnia, many Princetonians have faced the upheaval of war, with their educations often hanging in the balance. In this unique workshop, we will learn about some of their compelling stories of resilience and determination. Participants will have the opportunity to see materials from the University Archives that illustrate how alumni navigated extreme circumstances to earn their degrees. Interacting with these materials will give participants a deeper appreciation of how education can endure and even thrive in the face of adversity.
