Do you have to train others on how to use code to conduct their research in a lab or teaching setting? Do you lead workshops on data and computation at the university? Do you want to learn about best practices for teaching computational skills? Halle Burns and Zac Painter, certified Carpentries Instructor Trainers, will be leading a workshop on effective teaching practices. This workshop provides an opportunity for professional development in training and computational instruction, with the opportunity to become a certified Software Carpentry Instructor. The curriculum used will be: https://carpentries.github.io/instructor-training/

Carpentries Instructor Training has the following goals: Introduce you to evidence-based teaching practices. Teach you how to create a positive environment for learners at your workshops. Provide opportunities for you to practice and build your teaching skills. Help you become integrated into the Carpentries community. Prepare you to use these teaching skills in teaching Carpentries workshops.
