From AI to Andy Warhol, copyright is a near constant in the news cycle. But what if you want to reuse material in your own work? How does the law work to your advantage, and how can you work proactively to ensure your creations and research have a clear and secure rights path in the future? Come learn the ropes, with real world examples, easy, non-legalese guidelines, and an open Q&A. We will dispel myths, describe best practices, and learn to protect your rights as a scholar & creator, regardless of discipline.

Meet the Facilitator:
Matthew Kopel is Open Access & Intellectual Property Librarian at Princeton University Library. He has written and presented on copyright in the library and research contexts, and is available for consultation by appointment. Topics: Copyright (general); Fair Use & Permissions; Author Rights & Publishing; AI & Copyright; Open Access publishing; Creative Commons Licensing; Federal Public Access policy compliance.

What to Expect: Mini Workshop (90 mins. total)
