Mt. Tammany, named after the Lenape chief Tamanend, is a prominent peak in the Delaware Water Gap, located on the New Jersey side of the Delaware River. It is part of the Kittatinny Mountains and is a popular destination for hikers, offering stunning views of the surrounding area. The summit of Mount Tammany can be reached via several hiking trails, including the Red Dot and Blue Dot trails, which provide varying levels of difficulty.
