Speakers:

Rebecca Bill Chavez, President & CEO, Inter-American Dialogue

Evan Lieberman, Total Professor of Political Science and Contemporary Africa. Director, Center for International Studies, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Steven Wilkinson, Nilekani Professor of India and South Asian Studies; Professor of Political Science and International Affairs; Professor in the Institution for Social and Policy Studies; and Henry R. Luce Director, MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies, Yale University

Rebecca Bill Chavez will discuss the state of democracy in Latin America, with a focus on Mexico and its new president. Evan Lieberman will focus on the pivotal 2024 South African election and then briefly discuss the stakes of other upcoming African elections. Steven Wilkinson will discuss the 2024 Indian elections, with a briefer reference to the continuing democratic movements in Bangladesh and Pakistan.
