Details

"Under the Hanging Tree" is a supernatural noir about an impetuous city officer assigned to a morbid case in a small desert town in Namibia. When a German farmer is found hanging from a tree, hard-boiled police officer Christina Mureti is pulled into an investigation that uncovers Namibia’s colonial history and genocide of the Herero. The film was selected as Namibia’s first ever submission to the Academy Awards in the "Best International Feature Film" category.
