Are you passionate about addressing food insecurity in the town of Princeton? Are you interested in a hands-on, competitive design challenge? Come to this event for the opportunity to compete in teams while building awesome structures out of cans and other non-perishable food items. Think large-scale, near life-size, bulldozers, houses, boats, etc (inspo for the designs can be found at https://www.fbd.org/cangineering/)! The cans and nonperishable food items will be subsequently donated after the event to Send Hunger Packing Princeton (SHUPP), which will distribute them to those in need via their free food pantries around town. This is also a great opportunity to learn more about SHUPP (https://shupprinceton.org/) and the possibility of volunteering with a great local nonprofit. So, if you're interested in a fun, competitive team building design event with a good cause please sign up!

Meet the Facilitator
I'm Ada Metaxas, a junior in the chemistry department who volunteers with Princeton's Send Hunger Packing (SHUPP). Having grown up in Princeton and continuing my education at Princeton University, I feel passionate about addressing food insecurity in the local community. I also like hands-on challenges so I'm very excited to be hosting this Wintersession event and encourage everyone to come take part in SHUPP's mission!
