Are you interested in transforming your favorite song into an exciting pep band arrangement for sports crowds everywhere to enjoy? You're in luck! Participants in this workshop will learn all the basics of arranging popular music for marching and pep bands, and participants who choose to continue working on their arrangements after the workshop will have the option of having them played by the Princeton University Band at a future open rehearsal. No music theory, composition, or previous arranging experience is required (though basic musical knowledge, including how to read music, will be helpful), and all are welcome to participate, regardless of musical experience!

Meet the Facilitator
Jacob Jackson '26 is the Student Conductor and primary arranger of the Princeton University Band. As a music student and officer in both the Princeton University Band and the Princeton University Wind Ensemble, he is very familiar with the quirks of wind instruments in both marching and concert contexts. His arrangements have been played by the PUB at many Princeton athletic events, and he intends to pursue graduate education in music education with a focus on wind instruments.
