Advances in Wastewater Treatment - Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment (ACEE) Program
**PLEASE READ: See Bottom of the Description for the Wintersession Trips No-Show Penalty**
Wastewater treatment is evolving as its by-products like methane are explored for use as energy sources and feedstocks to replace fossile fuels in materials development. Treatment technologies must also respond to new challenges, such as preventing "forever chemicals" from flowing into rivers and oceans. Join Andlinger Fellow Angela Fasnacht for a tour of a Long Island, New York water treatment plant, and learn about these challenges and opportunities. Our host site is operated by Veolia, an international water, waste and energy management company with over 200,000 employees.
Meet the facilitator:
Angela Fasnacht, a veteran of the water utilities sector, who organized a PFAS summit at Princeton identifying research priorities and other needs after recent action from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to address PFAS contamination.
What to expect: A bus will depart the Princeton campus in the morning and return in the late afternoon. There will be presentations, lunch and a tour at the host site. Details on the bus pick up / drop off time and location will be provided when they are finalized.
To request accommodations for this event, please contact the workshop or event facilitator at least 3 working days prior to the event.
**WINTERSESSION TRIPS NO-SHOW PENALTY**
Given the limited number of trips available, the long waitlists for trips, and the significant investment of resources to make trips possible, trip registrants who are no-shows and did not cancel their registration with wintersession@princeton.edu at least 72 hours in advance of their trip will be charged $50 via their student account.
The only cancellations that will be accepted within 72 hours prior to the trip without the penalty fee must include a doctor’s note. Otherwise the $50 no-show fee will be charged.
