Details
The City Treks career exploration program provides undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to connect with employers and alumni working in high-demand industries. On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, eight groups of 10-15 students will travel to New York City to visit two organizations from the same industry. The structure of the day enables students to compare and contrast different work environments, missions, and industry roles, as well as make real connections with alumni and industry experts. All Treks will take place in New York City. Transportation will be provided for students leaving from campus.
The Software Engineering and Technology Trek will visit Yext and MongoDB. Yext is the Answers Company. Their mission is to help organizations answer every question about their business. They collect and organize content into our headless CMS, Yext Content, then leverage a complementary set of products — including Listings, Pages, Reviews, and Search — to deliver relevant, actionable answers wherever customers, employees, and partners look for information. For over 15 years, thousands of companies worldwide have used their Answers Platform to create seamless content-driven experiences at scale across search engines, websites, mobile apps, and hundreds of other digital touchpoints. This visit will feature the software engineering and technology aspects of the company.
MongoDB's mission is to empower innovators to create, transform, and disrupt industries by unleashing the power of software and data. Built by developers, for developers, their developer data platform is a database with an integrated set of related services that allow development teams to address the growing requirements for today's wide variety of modern applications, all in a unified and consistent user experience. MongoDB has tens of thousands of customers in over 100 countries. The MongoDB database platform has been downloaded hundreds of millions of times since 2007, and there have been millions of builders trained through MongoDB University courses. This visit will feature representatives from Engineering, Tech Writing, and Product Management.
As a Wintersession offering, registration for City Treks is first-come, first-served beginning on December 11. All interested students must fill out a registration form and will receive an update on their status (registered, waitlisted, declined) on a rolling basis through December 22nd. Accepted and alternate students will also need to attend a short, virtual orientation session prior to the trip.
**NEW WINTERSESSION TRIPS NO-SHOW PENALTY**

The only cancellations that will be accepted within 72 hours prior to the trip without the penalty fee must include a doctor’s note. Otherwise the $50 no-show fee will be charged.
**ALL TRIP ATTENDEES MUST COMPLETE THE Wintersession 2024 Trip Assumption of Risk and Release Form: https://forms.gle/sVJEW8cUAzenypwd6 If you are attending multiple trips, you only need to complete the waiver once.**
