The Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation (PCDC) is a grassroots non-profit organization established in 1966. PCDC's mission is to
protect, preserve, and promote Chinatown as a viable ethnic, business,
and residential community, and they have a long history of advocating for the needs of Chinese Americans and other immigrant communities in Philadelphia's Chinatown neighborhood. Some of PCDC's core programs include affordable housing, family services, neighborhood planning and advocacy, and economic revitalization. Last year, PCDC helped win the fight against the construction of a new 76's arena in Chinatown with the argument that urban stadiums generally cause gentrification and displacement of surrounding low-income communities.

You're invited to join the Pace Center for Civic Engagement to visit Philadelphia and learn more about PCDC's work! Join us for a visit to the Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation's community center office, followed by an educator-led walking tour of Philly's vibrant Chinatown neighborhood and lunch at a local restaurant.
