Details
Rock Climbing is a fun sport that works the entire body and mind. It's a great combination of strength training, delicate gymnastic-like movement, and a challenging mental exercise to figure out your next move on the Wall.
We will focus on footwork such as edging, smearing and stemming, as well as how to use different styles of climbing holds to your advantage. Teaching will be interspersed with climbing and games, and is taught by trained climbing instructors.
OA provides all equipment (harness, shoes, ropes, etc.). You should come prepared wearing athletic clothing, bring a water bottle, and have your prox (ID card) to swipe in.
Consider signing up for additional climbing classes to develop your skills by learning more about leg movement and advanced techniques.
Climbing is available for Princeton University students, faculty, staff, spouses, and visiting summer students. Official Princeton University photo ID required. If registering a spouse, please include their first and last name in the registration questionnaire.
In order to register, you must fill out the Climbing Wall Use Agreement and have an OA Climbing Wall Belay Certification.
- Until you fill out the Climbing Wall Use Agreement, you will receive the following message: "Sorry, this event is open to specific members only. You will not be able to register for this event." After you fill out the form, refresh the website and you should be able to register.
- If you are not yet belay certified but plan to be before this class, contact oa@princeton.edu for help with registration.
