Details
A young scientist at a state research institute is driven to desperation by the endless cycle of mandatory department meetings, committee hearings, and report-writing. Realizing he has no time left for actual scientific work, he builds a fully functioning android double of himself programmed to sit through meetings, nod at administrators, and deliver empty bureaucratic jargon in his place. The satire deepens when the robot, absorbing the superficial logic of the administration, begins to navigate the system better than its human creator, exposing how state institutions reward empty performance over actual substance.
In this sci-fi comedy, the motivations and shortcomings for creating artificial intelligence are anticipated, as an android AI created to dodge bureaucratic overloading takes on a live of its own.
The Rainbow Formula was immediately shelved and banned after production, keeping it out of theaters for decades.
