Irina Dezhina, visiting scholar at Stanford University, examines the changes that have occurred in Russian science in the period preceding and following the 2022 invasion of Ukraine, as well as the impact of sanctions on the scientific community. Utilizing survey data, her study illustrates how the most productive scientists responded to sanctions and identifies patterns of brain drain. Furthermore, her analysis elucidates the government's approach to revising its international science policy. In conclusion, potential scenarios for future development are considered.
