Details

Based on the Lunacharsky play of the same name, ├é┬½├É┼ô├É┬Á├É┬┤├É┬▓├É┬Á├É┬Â├æ┼Æ├æ┬Å ├æ┬ü├É┬▓├É┬░├É┬┤├æ┼Æ├É┬▒├É┬░├é┬╗ is among the first Soviet horror films ever made. This classic shapeshifter tale takes place in nineteenth century Lithuania, where a tormented Count Shemet, half beast and half man, must hide his bloodthirsty nature from the outside world as he falls in love with the beautiful but na├â┬»ve Yulka. Directors Konstantin Eggert and Vladimir Gardin put true love to the test as Shemet must decide between saving his wife from himself or surrendering to the beast within. The film is silent with English-subtitled title cards and has a runtime of 67 minutes.
