At a time when a turbulent political climate, corporate consolidation, and the global pandemic have presented enormous challenges throughout the world, Princeton University Press and the GESEI research group for independent publishing are hosting a conference to discuss the current state of publishing in Latin America, Spain and the United States on April
7th, 8th. Over the course of two days, independent publishers, university presses, and transnational publishing houses will convene to engage in lively discussions about the joys and challenges of publishing in Latin America and beyond. Events will consist of discussions around acquisitions, formats, distribution, marketing and sales channels on the first day, and roundtable
discussions on the issues of gender and publishing, AI and accessibility, publishing independence, and politics and censorship, on the second day. The conference will be a space for participants to share their experiences and reflect on their editorial strategies in light of the ever-shifting publishing landscape. We hope that the conference will help to showcase the richness
of publishing projects in Latin America and beyond today and offer a welcoming atmosphere for all lovers of books to share their passion.
