Leon Schreiber has served as South Africa’s Minister of Home Affairs since uly 2024. During his time in office, he has overseen significant reform, accelerating the delivery of visas and crucial identity documents for South Africans and visitors. A member of the Democratic Alliance (DA), he has been a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since May 2019. Before his appointment to the cabinet, he served in the shadow cabinet as Shadow Minister of Public Service and Administration during the Sixth Parliament. Between 2015 and 2019, Schreiber was a senior research specialist with Princeton University’s Innovations for Successful Societies program.
