Details
The first volume in the series is Jaume Vicens Vives' Notícia de Catalunya, translated into English as We, the Catalans. Published in 1954, this work is considered a classic of modern Catalan historiography and explores Catalan history, culture and identity in depth from their origins to the present day. Vicens Vives is widely recognized as one of 20th century Catalonia’s most prominent historians, and his innovative and rigorous approach has influenced generations of scholars.
Joining us to discuss We, the Catalans are editor and historian Josep Maria Muñoz and Yale professor of history Paul Freedman. Pere Almeda i Samaranch, director of the Institut Ramon Llull, will present the conversation.
