Details

This workshop aims to bring together a keynote speaker and 9 scholars outside Princeton with a small number of Princeton faculty to discuss how agrarian caste relations are reconstituted in “the urban” in modern and contemporary South Asia. It will offer new directions in scholarship on caste and the urban by especially asking what we can learn from scholars of race. It aims to be of interest to scholars and graduate students with interests in South Asia History and those interested in how caste expands our understanding of racial capitalism.
