In his talk, Dan Laing will present new research that provides the first-ever assessment of the extent of illegal wildlife hunting within China, a global hotspot of biodiversity. He will then delve deeply into how the combination of illegal hunting, bycatch, and aquaculture practices affects populations of endangered shorebirds in Asia. Finally, he will discuss how multiple stakeholders can help to mitigate the effects of overexploitation of wildlife within China, with a focus on mitigating shorebird mortalities along China's coasts.

This Fall 2023 Bradford Seminar is open to the Princeton campus community (active card holders) for in-person attendance and a light lunch without rsvp.  All others interested in attending can request an approved rsvp with ccrosby@princeton.edu. or view the seminar via the live streaming option on mediacentrallive.princeton.edu.

This semester CCC is contuining with an organics recycling program at the Bradford Seminars in partnership with Princeton’s campus composting project, the S.C.R.A.P Lab. In an effort to reduce waste altogether, please consider bringing service ware (utensils, plate, cup/mug) and/or containers to take home leftover food.
