Princeton in Hollywood (U) is excited to announce an exclusive screening of Moonlight and talkback with its Academy Award winning filmmaker Barry Jenkins and Professor Morgan Jerkins '14. Following the screening, there will be a talkback and audience Q&A.

Academy Award winning filmmaker Barry Jenkins has directed three highly acclaimed features, Medicine for Melancholy, Moonlight and If Beale Street Could Talk, as well as his award-winning television series The Underground Railroad, which is recognized as one of the best TV shows in the 21st century. Debuting with short films like My Josephine and Little Brown Boy, Jenkins most recently produced Charlotte Wells’ Aftersun and Raven Jackson’s All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt. Upcoming work includes the 2024 theatrical release of Mufasa: The Lion King.


 

Mr. Jenkins is a BAFTA, Critics Choice, Golden Globe; and NAACP Image Award winner; an Emmy Nominee; a Time100 honoree; Telluride Film Festival curator; and more. As a producer, his company Pastel collaborates with HBO, MAX, and A24. Jenkins is praised for his use of visual palettes in storytelling; dedication to source materials; leadership; and commitment to showcasing diverse narratives.

Morgan Jerkins

Morgan Jerkins is the author of the New York Times bestseller This Will Be Undoing as well as Wandering in Strange Lands and Caul Baby. Her short form work has been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, and The Atlantic, among many others. She is a two-time National Magazine Award winning journalist and she currently teaches Creative Writing at Princeton University, from which she graduated as a member of the Great Class of 2014.
