GitHub has emerged as the most popular platform for software development and version control using Git. This workshop will introduce participants to the GitHub web interface. Attendees will work through hands-on exercises to learn how to collaborate on software projects.

Target audience: This workshop is for those looking to get started with GitHub for software development.

Workshop format: Presentation with hands-on exercises.

Knowledge prerequisites: None

Hardware/software prerequisites: None

Learning objectives: Participants will come away with the ability to use GitHub to collaborate on software projects.

Kilian Lieret

Kilian Lieret (he/him) is a Postdoc at the Princeton Institute for Computational Science and Engineering (PICScieE) and the Institute of Research and Innovation in High Energy Physics (IRIS-HEP). As part of his current position, he is coordinating cross-experiment software training at the HEP Software Foundation (HSF). Previously, he finished his PhD in experimental high energy physics at the University of Munich working on the Belle II experiment.
