Note: Lunch will be provided to all participants.

In this session, we'll explore the emerging intersection of AI and scientific discovery, including how organizations are beginning to leverage Microsoft Discovery to support research workflows and accelerate the path from question to insight. Participants will gain an understanding of how agentic systems can assist with literature exploration, knowledge synthesis, and research planning while keeping subject-matter expertise and scientific judgment at the center of the process.

During this immersive, hands-on lab, participants will receive access to GitHub Copilot Business licenses and Azure resources and learn how emerging AI capabilities can be leveraged.

Working through a guided research scenario, participants will:

  • Explore how AI can support literature review, knowledge discovery, and research productivity.
  • Use GitHub Copilot to accelerate coding, notebook development, and documentation tasks.
  • Learn the foundational concepts behind AI agents and research assistants.
  • Build and customize a researcher agent tailored to a specific area of inquiry.
  • Explore how future research environments may combine human expertise, AI reasoning, and specialized research agents to accelerate discovery.
Participants will need to complete this form before the workshop.
