Learn how to create polished, consistently formatted, and reproducible figures in R using ggplot2. Are you tired of constantly tweaking individual graphs to make them look consistent or well formatted? This short workshop is a quick-start guide to building a reusable workflow for applying custom themes to ggplot2 figures. Participants will leave with a starter pack of a reusable theme file, examples, and reference materials that they can adapt for their own projects.

Session format: Presentation, demo and hands-on

Knowledge prerequisites: Basic familiarity with R and ggplot2 is recommended.

Hardware/software prerequisites: Participants should have R installed on their laptops.

Carolina Roe-Raymond is a Visualization Analyst in Research Computing at Princeton University. As a Visualization Analyst, Carolina helps Princeton faculty, staff, and students explore and communicate their data through graphs, charts, and other visuals. Prior to her current position, Carolina created static and interactive data visualization applications for academic research groups. Carolina has a Ph.D. in Resource Ecology and Management, where she used visualizations created in R and GIS programs to advance research in urban bee ecology.
