Details

This workshop is a follow up to the “Intro to Version Control Using Git” course. We will cover advanced git usage, including configuration, rerere, rebasing, and more.

Learning objectives: Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of git, several practical workflows, the operating theory of git’s design, and advanced configuration options.

Knowledge prerequisites: knowledge of git and basic terminal familiarity. We strongly recommend that you read the Pro Git book. (https://git-scm.com/book/en/v2)

Hardware/software prerequisites: Git installed on either your personal computer or a server that you can SSH into.

Dev Dabke (he / him) is a Ph.D. candidate in the Program in Applied and Computational Mathematics (PACM) at Princeton; he is also a fierce Blue Devil, having graduated from Duke in 2018. He has experience in using version control both in research and in industry. He hopes to one day version control his life.
