This is a one-day workshop offered on two different dates: 1/27/21 and 1/29/21. Please register for one session as they are identical. No technical or prior Agile knowledge is required to attend this session.

Originally invented as a project methodology for software development, Agile is now being used in organizations for a myriad of non-software projects. It is also used in school and home projects.
The philosophy of Agile is to have a user centric approach, and work collaboratively in short time-boxed cycles. The focus is on transparent communication, and continuous improvement from all perspectives: deliverable/s, individuals, and relationships.

Instead of spending significant time planning up-front, this methodology requires a shift in the mindset to embrace change at any point in time. A key to project success is the ability to quickly adapt due to changing requirements, resources, time constraints, and other factors.

This session will give you an overview of the methodology and enable you to kick-start your project using Agile.

What to expect:
This session is going to be an instructor led lecture style session, including showing a short video. Real project examples from Princeton University and the industry will be shared. There will be time for questions and answers.
A proposed agenda for the workshop is as follows:
Overview of Agile/Scrum Methodology
Agile/ Scrum Concepts
Roles & Responsibilities within an Agile team
Barriers to Agile Success
User Story Authoring (using current real examples)
Tools for using Agile - Jira, Rally, Target Process, white boards, spreadsheets

As the Director for the Custom Solutions and Integrations team, and the User Experience Office, I have the opportunity to work with various departments and groups across campus. My job requires a deep understanding of the customers' needs prior to building the solutions needed. My team works in an 'Agile' methodology with customers and embraces the ever changing requirements. We take pride in our strong customer relationships and have had many successful software projects using Agile.
As a certified Scrum Master, I bring to you 10+ years of Agile experience across different industries globally.

Throughout the session, Tim and Mike, Senior Managers on my team will share their experience about collaborating with, and converting Princeton University customers to an Agile state of mind.

The value of introducing Agile methodology to Princeton University's culture has been immense.
We look forward to sharing it with you!

To request accommodations for this event, please contact the workshop or event facilitator at least 3 working days prior to the event.
