How do you tell a short visual story with minimal equipment? With smart phone camera technology getting better and better, we want to instruct on visual storytelling with a mobile device. There’s no need for fancy camera equipment to tell your story. This is a relevant topic since we as consumers are flooded with constant visual content on social media.
We will show you how to create simple visual content whether for class, work or just for fun. You'll walk away from this workshop with a short multimedia package that runs under one minute.
What to expect:
Part 1 - Introduction to multimedia storytelling basics and why it's important - We will discuss video, photo and audio techniques. We will go over how to edit or piece the story together. Part one of the workshop will end with a hands-on project for the participants (we will give a fun, light-hearted story topic to the class); Participants will capture content over the next day to bring to part two.
Part 2 - We will discuss what content was captured by the participants and have a show and tell. No need to have a fully completed piece. This is just to learn and have fun! There will be lively discussion on what worked and what didn't, what ah-ha moments were had and what challenges were overcome. This will be a fun way to show off everyone's creativity.
