This is Part 1 of a double workshop that meets on two days. When you register for this event, you will automatically be registered for Part 2 on January 19th from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM.

This is a four session workshop focused on developing company pitch decks that are often presented to venture capitalist. The first session will include an activity lab on storytelling (which will include some reading) and framing of how to develop around an idea. The second session is a 90 minute group lab where teams will develop a "startup" around a challenge and practicing pitching. The final session is a 60 min session where teams pitch their startups and get feedback on their presentation. You don't need to have a concrete idea for a pitch--we'll be working in groups around developing a hypothetical idea, this is really about understanding the components of a pitch and a pitch would work.

Double workshop (meets twice a week for 2-hour sessions, 4 total hours of meeting time)

Meet the facilitator:

This is my 3rd year teaching ENT 200, Creativity, Innovation, and Design, for the Keller Center. I am also Vice President of Growth for Shift, an a16z-funded tech startup focused on military talent. Previously I’ve worked at the strategy and innovation firm frog Design, the global macro hedge fund Bridgewater Associates, and spent over a decade working on national security for the Pentagon, the White House, and the Department of Defense. I’m trained as a computer scientist and hold degrees from Hamilton College, Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School, and the National Intelligence University.
