Details

Led by Tracie Addy, founding director of the Institute for Teaching, Innovation, and Inclusive Pedagogy at Rutgers University, this interactive session will explore the mindsets of inclusive instructors as well as the principles and practices they use to facilitate equitable learning environments. Session content will include course design principles that center on equity and inclusion, instructional practices that have the potential to cultivate welcoming course climates, as well as sample inclusivity challenges and promising approaches to address them. Together we will investigate how we can create learning environments where students thrive.

Tracie Marcella Addy, PhD, MPhil is an accomplished academic leader who partners with higher education instructors across disciplines on their teaching efforts. She received her BS from Duke University, MPhil from Yale University, and PhD from North Carolina State University. She is a published scholar of teaching and learning and educational development and primarily focuses on learner-centered practices.
