Are you thinking about adding a blog, storymap, or annotation assignment to your Fall course? Are you interested in finding out what a storymap is? This session will provide a wide-ranging overview of common types of digital assignments and of the tools, both in and outside of Canvas, that help make those assignments possible. From multimedia-enhanced writing and digital exhibits, to mapping, podcasting, and social annotation of course readings, this session focuses on digital assignments that aim to engage students creatively with course materials and that can be easily added to your course. Participants will be introduced to the McGraw Center Toolkit, an online directory of recommended tools for use in digital assignments, to the Canvas Field Guide, a resource of information about digital tools available through the Canvas learning management system, and to the Digital Assignment Guide, an online resource with information about adding a digital assignment to your course with examples of past projects, rubrics and design considerations.
