This event is day 1 of the Future Faculty bootcamp for Science and Engineering divisions. This session will focus on assessing the landscape of faculty roles in diverse institutions (R1, liberal arts college and community colleges). Through data-driven insights from Academic Analytics and a journal club of recent papers, you will gain understanding of the different kinds of higher education institutions, types of faculty roles within diverse institutions, hiring trends and insights on profiles of successful faculty hires in diverse institutions.
Furthermore, you will assess and plan for career readiness for faculty positions, including planning for postdocs.

Future Faculty Day 3- Science & Engineering: Faculty life: Open access, ADI, Teaching, alumni panel & reception

This event is day 3 of Future Faculty bootcamp and all topics (except alumni panel) will be common for all four divisions (natural science, engineering, humanities and social sciences). Lunch and networking reception included.
In this session, you will continue to gain understanding of faculty life in diverse institutions.

1. Between 12-3.30 pm, speakers from Princeton University will discuss philosophy and best practices of open-access scholarship, diversity and inclusion and teaching

Future Faculty Day 2- Science & Engineering: Faculty life: Independent Research, Leadership and Management

This event is day 2 of Future Faculty bootcamp for Science and Engineering divisions.
This session will focus on gaining transparency of faculty life. You will gain understanding of the range of skills that are critical for getting hired as a faculty and successfully conducting the diverse responsibilities of faculty including developing an independent research direction, securing funding, leading finances and people in a lab, and mentoring trainees. Faculty and staff speakers from Princeton University will lead discussion of skills and responsibilities involved in leading independent research.
