This new Learning Cohort on Sustainability will offer introductory presentations, case studies, short readings, and discussion where participating graduate students will develop an awareness of the issues at stake, consider their application in real world situations, and explore related research and professional opportunities. We welcome graduate students from all disciplines to participate!

There are 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set out in the United Nations` (UN) 2030 Agenda outlining humanity’s consensus on what constitutes progress. They’re also a yardstick for measuring an organization’s impact on the world. While Siemens’ activities contribute to achieving all 17 SDGs, the company’s impact is greatest on Good Health and Wellbeing (SDG 3), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), and Climate Action (SDG 13). Climate Action – i.e. the fight against climate change – is one of the best-known SDGs.

Join Siemens professionals, Princeton alumni, faculty and staff for seven unique sessions focused on the elements of the United Nation’s 2030 agenda for sustainable development.

Mercator Partners’ core investment focus is structural disruption across the asset heavy industries power production, transportation, manufacturing, and primary production. Incumbents in these sectors are some of the largest contributors to environmental degradation and climate change due to not having been held responsible for the external environmental and societal costs associated with their business models. Mercator believes that an increased awareness and focus on sustainability, efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization will drive innovation and competitive economics for alternative green technologies and activities. Mercator seeks to capitalize on this structural change via a long/short global low-net mandate offering our investors exposure to a sustainability focused and transparent investment process and portfolio.

Speaker(s): Scott Hobart, Chief Investment Officer & Martin Fransson, PhD, Head of Primary Research

Once you have registered, you will be added to the Canvas site for all of the learning cohort materials and resources.
