Workshop series: This 3-part workshop series strengthens research communication skills, supporting both broader professional development and preparation for the upcoming 3MT competition. Participants who complete all three sessions will earn a micro-credential in Research Communications.
This session will help you build a research narrative using effective storytelling structures. Participants will learn how to tell effective research stories in 3 minutes, including
- Story structure that includes motivation, background, research design, findings/ outcomes, and impact
- Telling an effective story in 3 minutes
- Using visual aid (1 static slide) to effectively communicate research
About Three Minute Thesis 3MT:
Can you distill years of research into 3 minutes? Princeton Graduate School is hosting our second Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition in Spring 2027!
Graduate students (thesis master's and PhD students in dissertation/ post-general stage) will present their research to non-specialist audience- in just 3 minutes, with one static slide, and have the chance to win prize money.
Born at the University of Queensland, 3MT is now hosted at 900+ universities in 85 countries.
