About Three Minute Thesis 3MT:
Can you distill years of research into 3 minutes? As part of our125th anniversary, Princeton Graduate School is launching Princeton’s first-ever Three Minute Thesis (3MT) to spotlight the transformative impact of graduate scholarship across campus.

Graduate students (thesis master's and PhD students in dissertation/ post-general stage) will present their research to non-specialist audience- in just 3 minutes, with one static slide, and have the chance to win prize money.

Born at the University of Queensland, 3MT is now hosted at 900+ universities in 85 countries.

Workshop series: Participate in 3-part workshop series to elevate your research communication skills and prepare for 3 MT.

This session will strengthen your delivery by making full use of your bodies, amplifying the impact of your words in ways that will capture and maintain the audience’s attention. Participants will be encouraged to

  • embody openness, buoyancy, solidity, and purposefulness
  • exercise effective eye contact
  • and maximize their vocal power through projection, diction, and modulation before putting these principles into practice.
Instructor: John Weeren, Director of Princeton Writes
