Whether you have made some investments and want to brush up or are totally new to angel investing, this masterclass is for you! Co-Chairs of the Princeton Alumni Angels (PAA) Laurence Latimer *01 and Rob Wolk '91 and will cover the basics of angel investing, including:
Day 1— Mon. 4/14: Background on early-stage investing, screening companies, and diligence.
Day 2—Tues. 4/15: Mock pitches from real CEOs of venture-backed start-ups.
Day 3— Wed. 4/16: Making an investment. What happens after the investment is made.

Speaker bios:
Laurence Latimer *01
Laurence is co-founder and CEO of Dinara, a startup that is reimagining enterprise financial services for crypto businesses. Laurence built a career identifying, building, and scaling new businesses and led growth initiatives and new market entry in the U.S., Asia, Latin America, and Sub-Saharan Africa. He spent over four years at SunGard (acquired by FIS) where, in his last role, Laurence was GM of a $20M revenue enterprise software and data solutions business serving capital markets firms across the Americas. He launched in two countries and was responsible for a global workforce in the US, Brazil, Hong Kong, India, and Tunisia. Earlier in his career, Laurence held senior product, operations, and business roles at several venture-backed and bootstrapped startups. He began his post-graduate career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Laurence is a co-founder and co-chair of the Princeton Alumni Angels of Greater NY, and an advisor to the Catalytic Impact Foundation. In addition, he has been an angel investor for over ten years and advises several early-stage startups. Laurence earned a master’s degree from Princeton University's School of Public and International Affairs where he was a public policy and international affairs fellow and a bachelor's degree from The Ohio State University. He was raised and currently resides in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and two sons. Laurence is a Fellow of the 2019 class of the Aspen Finance Leaders Fellowship and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Rob Wolk ‘91
Rob serves as the Board Chair at the Catalytic Impact Foundation (CIF), a venture capital group focused on investing in innovative early-stage healthcare companies. He is also founder and Co-Chair of Princeton Alumni Angels (PAA), one of the largest and most active alumni investing groups, with over 2,000 community members globally. Between CIF and PAA, Rob has been involved in and overseen investments in over 120 early-stage companies since 2018. Previously, Rob was a Partner at the Carlyle Group in Hong Kong, in charge of Carlyle’s technology, telecom, and media private equity and growth capital investments across Asia. The fund he co-led, Carlyle Asia Partners I, was one of the most successful early Asian PE funds, with a 25% Gross IRR and a 4.0x MOIC. Prior to Carlyle, Rob served as an Executive Director in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs in London and Hong Kong, where he helped build and lead Goldman’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and privatization practices in Europe and Asia.
Rob currently serves as an instructor and mentor in the National Science Foundation Innovation Corps (I-Corps) Northeast Hub based at Princeton University and as an advisor and mentor to several early-stage companies and founders. Rob is the USA Board Chair and a member of the International Board of Amref Health Africa, the largest healthcare NGO in Africa, Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of Volunteers of America – Greater NY, and a member of the Council of the Princeton University Community (CPUC). He is a member of the Princeton in Africa (PiAf), Princeton Internships in Civic Service (PICS) and Princeton Student Ventures (PSV) Boards and previously served as a member of the Board of Trustees at the Trinity School in New York. Rob received an A.B. from Princeton University and an M.Phil. from Cambridge University.
