McCarter Theatre Lunch and Learn

Are you a grad student interested in getting more involved in the arts world - either during grad school or after you earn your graduate degree?

Join us for the first meeting of the Working in the Creative Arts and Public Humanities cohort (WCAPH), on October 27, 2022, from 11:45am-1:00pm. We will be meeting at McCarter Theater with McCarter’s resident producer Debbie Bisnos, to discuss the state of the theater world, McCarter’s mission, the questions that go into putting together a season, and possible ways grad students can get involved. Lunch will be served.

About the WCAPH: Over the course of the 2022-23 academic year, this cohort will meet with a diverse range of speakers across a range of spaces –" both on and off-campus –" to explore the reciprocal relationships between performance and research, criticism and production, theory and practice, and administration and academia, while learning about career paths in the public humanities, theater, arts, and GLAMS (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums). This interdisciplinary graduate learning cohort will be an informal community of critical inquiry and an engaging, supportive learning environment in which students will learn about the past, present, and future of cultural organizations, and acquire contacts and experiences that will equip them for their own journeys. Together, we will explore ways to engage, partner with, and work with cultural organizations, and we will consider issues such as access and diversity in the arts, public engagement and outreach, digital humanities, and art and social change.

If possible, please arrive a few minutes early to find the room. You will need to enter through the main McCarter doors on College Street and follow signs to our meeting space.
